The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead is probably best known for Windsor Castle, the Great Park and Legoland, but there is so much more to Maidenhead than this...
Directions: Travelling from London, leave the M4 motorway at junction 8/9 and at the intersection roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A308(M) signposted Maidenhead. At the second roundabout, take the first exit onto the A308 Braywick Road. After a short distance take the second turning on the left onto the service road running parallel with Braywick Road. Proceed for approximately half a mile and Kingswood Court will be seen as a turning on the left. Fairway View can be found at the end of the cul-se-sac on the left hand side.
The town is close to some of the best kept secrets in the county of Berkshire, unspoilt rural areas, including 1,000 acres of National Trust land, all begging to be explored; a network of 125 miles of cycle routes in the Borough and there is an irresistible choice of walks with welcoming pubs all along the banks of the Thames.
Maidenhead is nearby to some of the best equestrian facilities and sporting events in the world. For example, Ascot Racecourse, home of Royal Ascot, is just down the road and there are more informal flat racing and popular evening meetings at Windsor racecourse. Smiths Lawn, in Windsor Great Park plays host to the summer’s most prestigious Polo matches, Windsor Park Equestrian Club, Carriage Driving and one day events.
The centre of town is also a destination for discerning shoppers who tread a regular path to the exclusive boutiques whose staff know their clientele by name. It is a shopper’s banquet as there are over 300 retail outlets including national chains, private boutiques, butchers, delis, wine merchants and corner stores. Other excellent facilities include four leisure centres, a cinema, lively bars, nightclubs, gastro pubs and a wide choice of restaurants offering the world’s different cuisines.
The nearby village of Bray is one of Britain’s culinary capitals as it is home to two world renowned restaurants: The Roux Brothers’ Waterside Inn and Heston Blumenthal’s Fat Duck voted “The Best Restaurant in the World in 2005”.
Families with children of school age are spoilt for choice here as there are excellent private and state primary and secondary schools in the town and many more just a short distance away. Maidenhead’s position in the River Thames countryside, with close proximity to so many world class facilities makes it an ideal location for your lifestyle.
