Ideally located off the winding country roads behind Ascot and Windsor, Maidens Green is a quiet rural settlement comprising mainly large, private houses and farms. The old moats of Chawridge Manor are a reminder of the importance of the area in times gone by, while nearby Windmill Hill takes its name from a windmill once associated with community.

Despite its rural atmosphere, Maidens Green is well connected. Just seven miles across country, you can join the M4 at Junction 8, while Junction 3 of the M3 is a similar distance away. From either, the M25 and the rest of the motorway network opens up to you. Closer to home, both Windsor and Maidenhead are around seven miles away, and Ascot is less than four.

Ascot station is approximately a 10 minute drive from home, with regular services into London in 57 minutes ensuring the distance is easily commutable. Guildford is 62 minutes, while Reading takes just 30 minutes. Slightly further afield, Heathrow Airport is a mere 21 miles away, with Gatwick 48 miles.

Apart from Eton, the area boasts a wealth of both private and public schools: Lambrook and Papplewick are two of the leading preparatory schools in Britain, while St George’s School, St Mary’s School, Heathfield, Brigidine and the Licensed Victuallers’ School are all extremely well thought of.

Living in Maidens Green is all about appreciating the countryside, whether cycling along the leafy lanes, horseriding the myriad tracks across Crown land (permits are easily acquired) or simply enjoying the trails through the historic woodlands of Windsor Forest. Windsor Great Park is also close to hand, while the lake at Virginia Water and Savill Garden are equally accessible.

For golfers, Maidens Green is perfectly located: there are no less than 12 golf courses or driving ranges within a six mile radius, including Berkshire’s oldest course, Royal Ascot Golf Club, and Sunningdale Golf Club, which attracts a number of major competitions. The celebrated Wentworth Club, famous for its championship golf and three outstanding courses, is less than 8 miles away.
