Camberley is in Surrey Heath and it was sixth in Channel 4’s Location, Location, Location 2008 list of the Best Places to Live. The town has a unique mix of old and new homes, a vast swathe of Green Belt land and five sites of Special Scientific Interest.
Within a few miles of The Drive there are bridleways, footpaths and cycletracks in Surrey Heath, regular race meetings at Windsor and Ascot, water sports at Datchet and polo at centres locally.
Camberley offers a good variety of high street retailers and is ideally placed for access to Guildford and Windsor for additional independent shops and boutiques. The recently completed Atrium has a nine-screen cinema, bowling alley, a health and fitness club, cafés and restaurants, whilst the nearby Meadows has large superstores including M&S and Tesco.
Only two miles away, the five-star Pennyhill Park Hotel and Spa in Bagshot offers a range of treatments, eight swimming pools and a luxurious restaurant where the Michelin-starred chef, Michael Wignall, serves a modern British menu that is winning plaudits from gastronomes and connoisseurs.
A little further away in Ascot, another Michelin starred chef, John Campbell, is overseeing the cuisine of Coworth Park Hotel and Restaurant that is part of the Dorchester Group and has a ground breaking eco-spa. There are a number of well respected schools in and around Camberley, including Lyndhurst School, Hawley Place and some of the country’s best independent schools are in the nearby towns and countryside.
Camberley is ideally situated just 35 miles southwest of central London on the A30, between the M3 and M4 motorways. There are regular trains from Camberley station to London Waterloo and Guildford.
