Marryat Grange, Sway
Buying their first home together was an important goal for Mike Langton and his partner, Sophia. They had, along with many first-time buyers, made the transition from living with parents to renting, but the big challenge they faced with buying a home of their own was finding the house of their dreams within their budget.
Mr Langton explains,
“When we first thought about buying property a couple of years ago the challenge was enormous because we were looking in Brockenhurst in the New Forest, where we both currently live, and kept missing out on properties because the market is quite tough for first time buyers. However, as we started looking we noticed that several developments in the area were offering help to buy on selected properties, providing us with the opportunity to buy a high spec, spacious home that we may have not been able to afford.”
“We were looking for something in our price range to come up on Right Move and Zoopla for about 2 and a half years. The Marryat Grange development in Sway from Antler Homes came up on the market and instantly caught our eye, it looked perfect from the outside and had the interior to match, and the quality of build was second to none. Sway is only the next village along from where we currently lived, it was definitely something we were interested in, with the added bonus of help to buy scheme available, it was the perfect option for us.”
Mike and Sophia purchased a 3 bedroomed house at the Marryat Grange development.
On the advice of Antler Homes we used a solicitor that specialises in Help-to-buy, which meant that when the additional paper work from the solicitors had to be filled in, they were experienced in it. This made the process go very smoothly.”
Mr Langton says they could not have stayed in the area they wished to remain in and in a house of the size they wanted if Help to Buy did not exist.
He continues: “We’re now in our new home and are delighted that, with help from Antler Homes, we’re no longer spending our hard-earned cash paying rent and are living in a spacious house built to the highest quality, something we did not think possible!’
